Panel Upgrade

Electrical Panel Upgrades (100–150-200 Amp)

Upgrade your home's electrical panel to 100, 150, or 200 amps to handle modern electrical demands safely. Code-compliant installations with all necessary permits and inspections.

When Your Panel Can't Keep Up

If breakers trip frequently, lights dim when appliances start, or you're adding central air, an EV charger, or a home addition, your existing panel may not have the capacity. Most older New Jersey homes were built with 60- or 100-amp service. Today's households—with multiple HVAC zones, electric vehicles, smart-home systems, and high-draw appliances—often need 150 or 200 amps.

We size the upgrade to your actual load and future plans, pull the required permits, coordinate the utility disconnect and reconnect, and ensure every connection meets NEC and local code.

What the Upgrade Includes

  • Load calculation to determine the correct amperage for your home
  • New main breaker panel with modern circuit breakers and proper labeling
  • Meter base replacement if required by your utility
  • Grounding and bonding to current code standards
  • Permit application and inspection scheduling with your local municipality
  • Utility coordination for temporary disconnect during the swap

We handle the entire process, from the service drop to the final inspection sign-off.

100, 150, or 200 Amps?

100-amp service works for smaller homes with gas heat, gas water heater, and no plans for EV charging or large additions.

150-amp service accommodates most modern homes with electric heat or air conditioning, plus room for future expansion.

200-amp service is the standard for homes with multiple HVAC systems, electric vehicle chargers, hot tubs, workshops, or planned additions.

We'll calculate your load and recommend the right size—no upselling, no guesswork.

Permits and Inspections

Every panel upgrade in New Jersey requires a permit and inspection. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and make sure the work passes the first time. You'll receive a copy of the signed-off permit for your records.

How it works

01

Load Assessment

We calculate your current and planned electrical load to determine whether you need 100, 150, or 200 amps.

02

Permit and Utility Coordination

We pull the permit with your municipality and schedule the utility disconnect for installation day.

03

Panel Installation

We install the new panel, meter base if needed, update grounding, and label every circuit clearly.

04

Inspection and Reconnect

The local inspector signs off on the work, the utility reconnects service, and you receive your permit documentation.

Common questions

How long will my power be off?+

The utility disconnect typically lasts four to six hours during the panel swap. We schedule the work to minimize disruption and restore power as quickly as possible.

Do I need to upgrade my meter too?+

Sometimes. If you're going from 100 to 200 amps, the utility may require a new meter base. We coordinate that with them and include it in the scope if needed.

Will this work with my homeowner's insurance?+

Yes. An upgraded panel often improves insurability, especially if you're replacing an older panel or fuse box. We provide all permit and inspection documentation for your insurer.
